When we lived in Brussels (for 13 years) we attended the
very FIRST of these Galas for obtaining funds for AIDS.
And those that followed while we resided in the city.
One of the Great losses to the Ballet world was the
death of George Lefebre to AIDS.
His annual Spring Festival ; Ballet de Wallonia
was an event not to be missed.
For years we have been attempting to obtain a
VCR/DVD recording of his Ballet "Frankenstein",
which one of most emotionally moving ballets
we have ever seen. We have the music but not
the actual visual performance. Does anyone
reading this msg have a source for obtaining
a copy. Over the years the BRT broadcast many
of his ballets, which we recorded, but when "Frankenstein" was
shown, we were out of Brussels, an missed recording
it.
We hope this Gala is as successful as those of
past years.
We have lost three good friends to this terrible
virus.
