Belgium is a country of contrasts, daring exploits, tradition and modernity, with an abundance of artists, brand names, inventors, scientists and know-how.
The “Made in Belgium” exhibition is an ode to this diversity. It is the biggest exhibition ever about this country and aims to illustrate the many different aspects of its life and history, as well as the famous and less famous but talented Belgians who where born and bred here.
The exhibition, which is being designed by the same creative team that produced the blockbuster “I was 20 in 1940” is structured around 12 different themes : music, the plastic arts, folklore, literature, decorative arts, sports, performing arts, comic strips, science & technology, the savours of Belgium, Belgian explorers and human liberties. Contemporary layouts and 3D sets bring events, characters, places, objects and other achievements back to life and provide a fascinating journey of discovery through the country’s many nooks and crannies.
From Magritte to Solvay, from Arno to Victor Horta, from Pieter Breughel to Eddy Merckx and Sister Emmanuelle… visitors can expect a liveley portrait of Belgium.
